Sport Meat...how often?

Hello everybody,

Had a discussion with my friend over meat today..He said that animal meat (veal, beef, chicken), shouldn't be eaten more than 5 meals a week..
I, however, eat at least 1 pound of meat per day (in 2 meals or so) because I never really heard anything like that before and I like it very much..
He also mentioned that veal is especially bad because it has some harmful acids in it.

Personally,I think it's bogus, but what the hell, you just cannot tell between myths and facts nowadays :)

So, what's the truth?
 
Lean meat is great for you, the only thing you should worry about is saturated fat. But again, in lean meats (chicken, fish, turkey, lean beef, lean pork) you don't need to worry about anything. Eat as much as you'd like, it's a great source of protein.
 
I'd ask your friend 'exactly why' you shouldn't eat meat more than 5times a week.
furthermore, by his reasoning, eating a 2lb roast 5 times a week is ok, but eating a chicken strip every day for a week is bad.

logic surrenders :)
