Sport Meals When You Have NO Time

Sport Fitness
I've been training for about a month now every day at least once sometimes twice and I haven't had a good meal in about two weeks as I'm always busy at meal times. Does anyone know any good quick meals that I can bring with me or even come home and get quickly after working out or practicing? I just can't stay at this level of training without some good quick HEALTHY meals.

Nuts are very energy dense and can be eaten on the go anywhere anytime.

You don't have some time on a night to cook up a bunch of boiled eggs, chicken breasts, and/or brown rice? Have a batch of all that handy in the fridge, makes for filling power meals right there.

Peanut butter and honey sandwhiches. They're great for after a workout.

2 slices of whole grain bread = 40g of complex carbs
Honey = simple carbs (g's dependant on how much you put)
Peanut butter = fats, some carbs.

It's ghetto but tastes awesome.

Agree with all of the above. You can also make and keep a big container of chicken salad or tuna salad in your refrigerator. It's great to eat on crackers or you can throw some on bread for a quick sandwich.

When I was single, I used to get lean ground beef, brown it, rinse it, drain it then add a can of rotel to it and let it simmer until the liquid was gone. I would keep it in the refrigerator and use it as a filling for tortillas to make soft tacos. I could throw on a little cheese and some salsa for a quick, low fat meal.

Spend some time on these things and you'll always have healthy food handy. Obviously, fresh fruits and vegetables are great to have on hand to eat with any of the above mentioned items.

Thanks, everybody. Can I assume that Rotel is tomato sauce or something similar? I'm from Newfoundland and I don't think we have that brand name here so I'm not familiar with it.

If only we could get Rotel in Canada, Greg. For some reason, they never took off here because it would have cost too much to put French on the labels. So in order to get my Rotel fix, I have to get people in the US to send them to me. And I pay a fortune in duty because it goes by weight and dimensions :(

When I go to the US for my retail therapy at the outlets, I try to find a store that carries them and if I can find them, I smuggle them up in my car :D

I LOVE Rotel.

Fats - Handful of nuts
Protein - Glass of milk with a scoop of chocolate whey mixed in
Carbs - Piece or 2 of fruit

Simple :D

Omelettes are always a good quick meal.
Add more whites than yolks to bulk them out a bit.
Ham, mushroom and tomatoe are yummy!!!!!!!!!
5 minutes and as Gordon says DONE.

I have very little time to cook during the week too. I cook a variety of different meals on Sunday mornings for the entire week. I keep some in the fridge and i put a bunch of single serving meal containers in the freezer. It assures me that i always have a quick and healthy meal in 5 minutes no matter what.
