Sport Meal before Bedtime

Sport Fitness
OK, i know you should not be eating carbs before bed. Do carbs from vegetables caount as well? reason being, i'm having a lot of trouble sleeping. i usually eat a chicken breast or fish breast around 9:30 or 10:00pm. then end up staying up in bed for hours? could it be the carbs from the vegs? i only eat the green veggies before bed...broccoli, spinach, green beans.
Any thoughts are welcomed.
Thanks in advance!

You need to have protein and fat before bed so it will slow the digestion rate and repair muscle better while sleeping. Adding fibrous veggies to this is also well to do.

So pre-bedtime meal could look like this.

Grilled Salmon with Olive oil and Kale

Or

1/2 scoop of protein powder
1 tbsp of peanut butter
mixed in 2% cottage cheese

or

Grilled Chicken mixed greens salad with olive oil and balsamic vinger

or

Tuna with light mayo, omega 3 eggs with a side of spinach and 2 fish oil capsules.

Possibilities are endless, just feed yourself right.

Thanks for that info and options! i'll give those a try this week. I cant wait to get some SLEEP, makes the next day that much tougher without it.

Is it just the vegetable raw or is it mixed with something else? About how much of the veggies are you eating?

I wouldn't think that any of those things would keep you up. What time are you trying to fall asleep by? Personally I try not to eat past 8pm (other than a few nuts here and there) so that I can fall asleep easily. I get up fairly early though (5:30am-6:30am) and there have been nights where I passed out at 9pm.

A pretty decent late night meal for me is about a cup of shredded wheat with skim milk. Not great, but there are times where I can't sleep because I ate my last meal too early, so I'll have a little bowl of shredded wheat.

I have that problem sometimes, I sometimes eat tuna and cheese or a protein shake just before I goto bed because I hate trying to go to sleep on an empty stomach.

I know some people say it is bad to eat before you're going to bed but I am trying to put on weight, wether it be muscle or fat (muscle preferred)

Not bothered if I put on a little fat because I have quite a fast metabolism.

I'd always wondered why (when the gym I used to go to when I started working out gave me a food plan) that they stressed having the last meal of the day (pb on a slice of whole wheat bread). Now I guess I know - thanks for the info.
