NOTICE: ANY donations being made MUST do through the AMERICAN CANCER SOCIETY on the RELAY FOR LIFE PAGE LINK below... this is not coming to ME... i am simply a participant in a huge nationwide event June 25th of this year.

I am posting this for those of you who are interested in being involved with a charitable event. I am by no means asking for your money or begging for it. I wanted to put this out there thought because we are a huge weightloss community who are trying to get ourselves as healthy as can be and better our quality of life. Many people with cancer lose that oppurtunity the minute they get a diagnosis. I want to find a cure... im sure we all do. Those of you like me who have lost family or friends to cancer know what a tough battle they fight.
Just maybe.....

I am on a team for the relay for life here in Harrisburg, PA. We are trying to raise money for the American Cancer Society, and since just over a year ago my PapPap passed away after a very tough battle with prostate cancer, this hits really close to home for me. I know its going to be such an emotional event and I am really excited to be a part of maybe someday finding a cure through research etc.

My goal is to raise at least $100.00. I hate asking people for money because I know some people get annoyed by it…. so needless to say I have slacked off terribly. I wanted to post the information on here that way if you have money budgeted to go toward a charitable cause this month, or have an extra $10.00 laying around, maybe you will consider donating to this cause under our team
Here is the information. Please do not feel obligated… however if you are able to donate, any amount is so appreciated. This is something I have gotten very passionate about lately… I think all the races that I have done lately that have fees that go to good causes has motivated me to get more involved than I have in the past.

You can help light the way to a cure for cancer and honor loved ones who have battled the disease. During the Relay For Life event, a beautiful Luminary Ceremony takes place.

Volunteers place the luminary bags around the track. Once all the luminaries have been placed, they are all lit and the names of those memorialized and honored are remembered in a touching ceremony.
The votives are then left to burn throughout the night, serving as a reminder of the purpose of Relay For Life.

Luminaries are $10.00 each and can be In Memory or In Honor.
If you go to the page for my team Go! Fight! Win! and look for Melissa Hiester you can purchase a luminare and put a personal message and the name of the person you are honoring. I did one for my grandfather....

Your $10.00 would then go to the American Cancer Society!
