Master Cleanse Book on pdf

Hopefully I've attached the pdf but if not, I will correct it later. Has anyone heard of this type of cleanser. My Aunt has lost about 50lbs and swears by it but I haven't tried it.

Recipe for the Master Cleanse Lemonade

2 Tablespoons lemon or lime juice (approx. ½ lemon)

2 Tablespoons genuine maple syrup grade B (Not maple flavored sugar syrup)

1/10 Teaspoon cayenne pepper (red pepper) or to taste

8 oz water, room temperature

Combine the juice, maple syrup, and cayenne pepper in a 10 oz glass jar w/lid and fill with the water. Shake it up and drink. (Cold water may be used if preferred.)

Use fresh (organic) lemons or limes only, never canned lemon or lime juice nor frozen lemonade or frozen juice.

There are special provisions for diabetics also. Although the carbs are high from the grade B maple syrup, they are not stored as fat and one will lose weight unless one drinks over 6 glasses each day or adds more syrup than recommended to each glass. Those who want to gain weight can do so by drinking 7-12 glasses each day.
All the vitamins, minerals and amino acids are provided by the grade B maple syrup and by the lemons or limes.

I recite the gospel of Spark an awful lot... but I have a lot of respect for the nutritionist that's on staff... She's got many years of experience under her belt and seems to know what she's talking about...

This topic comes up a lot over there... this is referred to as the lemonade diet, the syrup diet or the master cleanse diet... no matter what it's called it's still a fad style diet that's really not all that safe for you long term

One of my favorite resources for all things diet is Love to Know I think it's a wikipedia company... they describe the fairly well and have some cautions...

Side Effects
The first few days of the program can be tough. Like any other fast-type diet, learning to get along without your normal amount of food is difficult. And, like any juice fast, learning to get along without solid food can be a tremendous challenge.

In addition, because this diet is a cleansing fast, there are "detox" symptoms that may occur, including headaches, nausea and vomiting, cravings, fatigue and irritability. Most of these symptoms are short-lived. On rare occasions, they may be so severe that the dieter has to end the diet early.

Health Warnings
Persons following the Lemonade Diet should follow it exactly as written, and, ideally, under the supervision of their personal physician. Individuals should also be attuned to their body's signals that it is time to transition back to eating. The recommended 10 days is sufficient for most people; higher numbers of days would not be recommended unless the person were under a physician's care and had become accustomed to shorter-term fasts.

Drink at least the minimum amount of the lemonade each day; Burroughs and Glickman both state that one should drink 6 to 12 glasses of the lemonade per day. With 100 calories per 2 tablespoons of Grade B maple syrup, and 8 calories per 2 tablespoons of lemon juice, and 1 calories per 1/6 teaspoon of cayenne pepper, each drink provides approximately 109 calories. Thus, it would be important to drink 11 to 12 glasses per day to ensure that at least 1200 calories were consumed.

To guard against dehydration, water should also be taken throughout the cleanse. Many cleansers drink a glass of water between glasses of lemonade.

Persons who wish to follow this program more than once a year are advised to wait three to six months between stints; the longer the time on the diet, the longer one should wait to repeat it. Three months between 10-day stints is the minimum recommended interval.

Question

Wow,

Is this something that person would have to do without eating? My aunt has done this but I am not sure of what her routine is. Please let me know.

I guess sticking to the old way of healthy eating, exercising regularly, and leading a healthy lifestyle is the best.

Thanks,

Peaky

I did the master cleanse and found it very difficult until I actually bought a book on the process and educated myself about it. It's really not just mixing the ingerdients and drinking it whenever your hungry. I used this book:

It really helped my to keep on it longer and gave me lots of tips, plus it tells you all the nutritional side of everything as well, not just the ingredients.

I did this diet in Feb and lost 16 pounds but it was really tough. If you can do the first five days (properly) then the second half is much easier. I'm not in a hurry to repeat it though.

Long time fan

I have followed this program successfully many times over the years, but I never once did it to lose weight. For myself it has always been a detoxification process, the results of which were absolutely shocking. Even after 10 days of no solid food my body and digestive track were STILL removing solid waste. Meaning SOLID poops, even though nothing solid going in.

As mentioned here before, it is important to do this program correctly. I have know many many people who have tried the program then bashed it later because either they couldn't stick to it or they cheated horribly and were unhappy with the results, or the detoxification process was simply too much after years of abuse.

People expecting to lose 20 pounds in 10 days seem to be the ones most let down. Whereas there is definite weight loss, I find the detoxification benefits to be far more worthwhile. I understand the process well, having not only done it a dozen or more times, but because I learned how to do it properly from a very good friend of mine who is now a certified naturopathic doctor and nutritionist. I know the first 3 days are going to suck, but I also know it gets easier. So it is easier for me to stay on plan and keep with it for the full 10 days. Probably due for another run sooner than later.
