Sport Martial Arts Tournament: What to eat before, during, after?

Hello everyone. I have a few questions that i hope some of you could help me with. I entering my first ever martial arts tournament this weekend (stick fighting). There could possibly be about 6-7 matches over a span of 2 hours or so. My questions:

1) What should i eat before the tournamnet begins? (It begins at about 4pm). Should i be careful not to eat too litle, because i may run out energy? I am also a strict vegetarain.

2) The matches are very grueling and require alot of energy/stamina. I sometimes get sore legs after a match if i use too much force. What should i do/eat after a match in order to give my muscles strength for the next fight? (which could be only 15 mins- 30 mins later)

3) Should i drink gatorade before a match? or eat power bars? And how long does a power take in order for them to "kick in"?
