Sport marinades or seasonings?

I'm trying to cut back on marinades and condiments. I understand marinades usually have amounts of sodium. Are seasonings/rubs, for chicken breasts healthier than marinades?
 
it really just depends. dry seasonings may be loaded with salt and/or MSG...or they may be very 'clean'.

marinades often contain trans fats and/or sugars..but if you make your own you have more control.

vinegar, some oil, and some spices make a great steak/chicken marinade, and it will tenderize steak.
