Hi, I live in Quebec Canada. I've tried to loose weight with no success, my eating habits are terrible. I work at night and my level of physical activity is near 0.
The worst is my lack of motivation. I hope here I can find some support and ideas to reach my goal.

Hi, Maria & welcome to the forum. You say you have no motivation, but you are here. Those terrible eating habits can be changed. You can do it. Just start making positive changes, one by one.

Thank you. I havent gone to buy food yet, but always eat healthy one day and the rest of the food rotten.. Then the remorse come, and feel I'm also wasting my money.

You are not alone, I can be pretty sure in saying that your eating habits are likely no worse than mine were up until very recently. Many of the others here can probably say the same.

This is a good place to find support and advice, that is what its all about.

I suggest you go to the Weight Loss Diary page (https://weight-loss.fitness.com/forums/weight-loss-diary.9/ ) and start a diary. Tell us more about yourself and your goals. Do that and you will find a lot of good advice and support.

Planning and being realistic will help, and remember while buying right is a good goal its better to let some food rot than to over eat or eat junk.

Best of luck to you, I look forward to seeing more of you here!

Hi Maria and welcome to the forum.

What are your goals? My fitness regime started out with walking then hiking then cycling and now I’m running/cycling/hiking and walking. Weightloss they say is 80% diet but I suck at dieting so I push exercise further and make up for it there. My point is you need to find what works for you and stick at it BUT be ready to adapt when the need arises.

Welcome to the forum, Maria!

I would highly suggest heading to the diary section and checking out what other people have done, what works for them, and what different people record. You can choose what you record and how often, but in the long term, tracking things and having support form other forum members can really help. I think it can also help you set realistic goals that can keep you in a more realistic mindset throughout your progress.

Hello, Maria! I sympathise with your situation of buying good food and then having it go off in the fridge. When I was in sharehouses, we had a standing joke:

What is the definition of a vegetable?
Something that goes rotten in the bottom of the fridge. :biggrinjester:

The joke was all too true, all too often! The way we tackled it was to be pretty hard-edged in planning meals ahead of time, and only buying what we needed for those meals - so for one meal, say, only buying four tomatoes, not a couple of kilos, thinking they'd come in handy somewhere along the line. Buying in case things come in handy is great if you've got a leisurely resident cook - they can make up new menus on a whim - but for our house in those days, full of rushed non-cooks, it was easier to just race in, see what's planned for dinner, make that and eat it and forget the rest.

(Of course, making large batches on the weekend, and freezing them and eating during the week is good, too, given a free weekend and a freezer.)

Glad to read your post here. Just follow the OP suggested you to lose weight. All the best!
