man vs. wild

I love this show.

He probably knows quite a lot just by being an outdoorsman...but I'm sure he's got writers or people who do research for him.

Which brings me to a point...people have been giving him some heat lately for being misleading, like all the **** you see on his show is totally for real. What idiots for expecting him to be that lucky/exciting all the time. For instance, when he was in the Rockies or whatever, he came upon some "wild horses"...when in reality, the horses were brought in specifically for the show. People are ****ting their pants over this stuff, calling him a fake and liar...wtfz?! Obviously he does a lot of stuff just to show you how it's done, if not just to look cool. Now before every MvW, they show a disclaimer telling people that not everything might be real.

What bull****.

At the end of the day, Bear Grylls is jumping into frozen lakes and drinking water from elephant ****. He's more of an outdoorsman than any of the damn critics, and is manages to make it entertaining.

Bear is the Man! He actually is a very accomplished guy for being so young. I believe he was the youngest Britt to ever climb Everest when he was in his 20s...Some people just love to be nagative and will find the flaw in everything

Survivor man is so much better than bear vs wild. Survivor man doesn't have his own camera crew and has to setup his own cameras where ever he goes, and if bear ever gets in trouble he has the camera crew to help him out while survivor man is completly on his own

I've flip flopped on which I like best. I used to prefer Man vs. Wild because Les on Survivorman whines too much and just sits around all day, but the more I thought about it, that's more like real survival, Bear tries to make it more glamorous and takes unnecessary risks like shooting rapids and climbing sheer cliffs etc. Plus Bear named his son Marmaduke, that has to be some sort of crime against humanity.

However I think my wife prefers to see Bear take his clothes off vs. Les LOL

..and btw wasn't Bear in the British special forces?

I like both shows

I like both okay, but MvW is a little different. Les is just there to survive and document it, Bear is there to show you crazy, risky things under the premise of "you might use this"...which is fine, but it also ends up being more entertaining.

When things get really tough for Les, he's going to stop filming or ditch his gear. Or when something exciting happens, he might not be able to catch it. Bear is the opposite. Still, for all we know, Les AND Bear make up **** on film.

I remember watching an ep of survivorman where Les said a jaguar was outside his hut...I called BS but it was his reason to flee to the neighboring native villiage.

If you watched it till the end you'd see he was right, there was a jaguar pacing outside the gates as soon as he entered the village.

They might have put that image in. When I watched the ep, I'm pretty sure I watched it through all the way, and I did not see any jaguar. Hahhaha man, okay-- Survivorman is designed to document Les' survivor...ing. When the jaguar came, it was totally within the context of the show to leave. If Bear ran into a jaguar, he'd have to show us some way to fashion a trap-- trap the cat, kill it, skin it, eat it, and wear the fur...

Hahhahahha okay maybe not but the comparison is still kind of like that.

never watched it before. Just watched S1E1. I think I like survivorman more though.
