I recently tried to make a couple of batches of Protein Bars. Whilst I was very pleased with myself for following the simple instructions, evidently I had done something wrong because the mix did not set into bars. Instead both batches formed a paste and whilst this paste was tasty and packed with the essential proteins and such that my body needed, it was simply not as practical as bars!
Where am I going wrong? has anyone experienced anything similar?
The recipes were these ones from the stickied thread:
3 Cups Oatmeal
1/2 Cup Natural Peanut butter
1 cup Skim Milk
4 Scoops Protein Powder
dash of cinnamon
8 Scoops Whey (Vanilla is very good)
3 Cups Oats
1 Package Sugar Free Fat Free Pudding (Any flavor is good)
2 Cups Skim Milk
The 2nd recipe was far more pasty than the first and I put this down to the Sugar Free, Fat Free Pudding. I'm from the UK and took this to mean Angel Delight however I'm not sure that this is the same stuff that the creator had in mind!
Any help appreciated!
PS - Tried to post a link to Angel Delight on Wikipedia but site won't let me until I have 15 posts in any event if you want to know what Angel Delight is, it's a good place to start!
