I've just started running to get fit after 6 + more months doing nothing but drinking beer, eating fatty foods and studying for exams with hardly or no productive exercise.
Since 2 weeks of running once every 2 nights for 20 minutes. I've kinda cut down on the bad foods and eat more healther.
So my question is would a healthy diet help maintain weight with extented periods of running? I'm asking because i'm naturally skinny (60kgs - 132 pounds) and don't intend on losing wieght and I'm an exercise noob who didn't really consider it to be important for me. But now, I've learnt from my doctor that I have a high blood pressure. (Perhaps from stress of studies). Plus, our family history of high cholesterol levels and heart attacks. So now I'm taking my health serious.
A little back ground about my current diet is.
Morning about 6 - 7 wheatbix
lunch perhaps a toasted cheese sandwich
Dinner, salad or veges with meat like, steak, sausages, chicken, fish, pasta etc.
If parents aren't home or come back late. Which is around 60% (3 - 4 times) of the week
It's normally pies, sausage rolls, hot chips, Pizza, maccas, kfc etc.
Except fridays when it's always take out.
And I should mention my weekend binge drinking habits with my mates.
With around 6 + beers depending on how the night is going.
So I would like to thank you for suggestions on keeping the weight or putting more weight on which is what I want and have not been able to do in regards to running and dieting.
Ty,
Lenny
