sorry about title but i need to vent...i feel so sick i could vomit. i went to the bank this morning to make a deposit and the lady said you know your account is -528? im like WHAT??? i said i have direct deposit and i know there was just over 700 in there 2 days ago? so she's reading off my debits etc. and i heard 2 large transactions and i was like whoaaaa wait a minute i did NOT make those charges! turns out they were from paypal. it freakin figures. i left the bank literally shaking and almost in tears and my poor kids were like mommy why didnt we buy anything? cuz i dont have a darn dollar to my name!

guess im stupid for having a paypal account but you almost have to have one if you use ebay. thing is i havent used either of those sites in forever, so im yet another victim of a paypal hacker scam. according to paypal who i called right away i will eventually get my money back and the bank says im not responsible. but that still doesnt help me now that im flat broke! i just wanna crawl in a hole.
 
I feel your pain. I'm currently having an issue with some butthole from ebay myself (not as big of a deal as yours, but still). Did you find out how it happened?
 
That sucks ww! We've had issues with paypal too, so I understand! I"m really sorry! Hope it gets cleared up soon
 
thanks guys, somehow they hacked into my paypal got my pw somehow and the money is still sitting in someone elses account "unclaimed" the lady i spoke to on the phone at paypal said this was only the 2nd time she saw this type of money "hyjack" from an account. according to the history, the guy who did it is in the uk and it wasnt an ebay transaction. its hard to explain i dont fully understand it all.


the worst part of it all is i dont have a cent to my name and its our anniversary this week and my husbands 50th birthday in 3 weeks and i wont be able to get him anything let alone anything for living. guess i should be thankful tho its not christmas time tho right?
 
wow that really sucks, ive never used paypal and now i wont for sure. hope everything gets fixed,and you get back the money somehow
 
nymph, paypal is like a service where you register your credit/debit card to pay for things usually on ebay but other places as well.

anyway, the charges were reversed thank goodness but it will take a while for the money to actually show back up in my bank account. no more paypal for me.
 
paypal is very secure, as long as you don't get hit by the scams. Every couple of months, i get an email saying that it's from paypal and they want me to log in and confirm something-rather, but if you click on the link, you will end up at some site like ... if it doesn't say it's a scam. I send these directly to abuse@paypal.com so that they can promptly shut down these sites. Paypal will never send you an email asking you to log in ... if you ever get an email like this that you think might be legit, just go to paypal.com manually (not clicking on any links) and login ... if they want you to do something, it'll be right there when you login.
 
well that would be great if it was true! but i have not logged into my paypal account in almost a year nor have i received/answered any suspicious emails to do anything at all associated with them and this STILL happened to me.
 
That's awful, I wonder how they got your password and username?

I got an E-mail awhile ago (supposedly from Paypal) saying I needed to confirm my credit card number to make sure I was a real person or something like that. Which seemed very odd to me since I already did confirm my bank account and I've never had any problems with my credit card. So I ignored the E-mail....nothing has happened with my Paypal, tho they said I wouldnt be allowed to do certain things if I didnt respond, and I'm glad I didn't take it seriously now. I was already paranoid before about logging into paypal on a computer I didnt know 100% was secure, now Im definitely not going to. Scary.
 
One of my co-workers just went through the same thing you did. He was from Russia or somewhere like that. I can't believe the nerve some people have. :mad:
