Sport Macronutrient ratio help needed

Sport Fitness
Hello,

I have just started using macronutrient ratios to make sure that I am eating properly. I am following a ratio of 40/30/30. I understand that 1 gram of fat equals 9 calories and each gram of protein/carbs equals 4 calories. However, when I use that formula on the English muffin below it doesn't work. Am I missing something or trying to oversimplify? Here are the figures:

Calories: 100
Fat: 1.5g
Carbs: 24g
Protein: 6g

Thanks for your help!

They round things down, and up, as they see fit. If its 24.4grams, its 24. it might be 5.5g of protein but they call it 6g. Fat gets rounded down (0g of trans fat could still be .4g) and other things get rounded up cuz they are 'good'...at least if you're not educated (many people think fat = the devil)

Also with that one, how much Fiber is there? Fiber is a type of carb, but has 0 net calories. Incidentally, alcohol is also a carb, and has 7calories per gram.

Thanks for the reminder about fiber! There are 8 grams of fiber per muffin. When I take that away from the net carbs, I end up with a much closer estimate. I understand that it's an approximation, but I knew I must be missing something!

Thanks for the website tips, too! I will have to check them out.
