Lowies Journey Towards A Great Life

hi guys, i have been posting a bit in the newcomers forum, but as i am goin to be posting more often i thought i would start a diary.

ok so yesterday i weight in at 125kg's (275 pounds) and im around 6' tall

i was a bit shocked at that, i knew it was high but didnt think it would be mid 120's..

so last night i sat up till about 10:30 writing in a notepad goals i want to achieve, i set my ultimate goal, a one year goal, a 3 month goal, and daily goals

So pretty much within 3 months i want to loose around 20-30kgs (around 40-50 pound) which to me seems pretty reasonable.

So TODAY IT STARTED..

after making a schedual for times at the gym, today was my first serious work out,

it sure was tough, but it felt so good when i was working out seeing that calorie count tick up and up. i got to a point where i was about to break, but once i pushed through it it seemed to be alot easier, the pain didnt get any worse. i did just under an hour of med/high intensity cardio work out, just on the bike and treadmill... After my work out i went and got changed, and saw all the sweat on my singlet top.. i just stood there for a moment and smiled.. people say the first day is the hardest.

And starting last night i have been looking at everything i eat, checking calories and fat and sugar levels, it quite exciting to know that from now on i will be more in control of me, and i have been shocked at the amount of calories i used to eat, and the amount my family still eats, last night we had home made pizza on whole meal pita bread, my mum and dad ate the big ones, i checked the calories in them and they were eating 300 calories in the pita bread alone! then they went and covered it with cheese and meats, ohh i was shocked at it, i cut the big pita bread in half and put on tomato's, mushrooms, capsicum, pineapple, a little bit of mozzerela and a little bit of ham.. that would have been no more than 350 calories, i admit i was hungry afterwards, because i am used to eating double what i ate last night, but after dinner i just filled up with water.. water work wonders.

well i shall keep you ppl posted with more updates through the weeks to come.

and i personaly want to thank everyone that has inspired me so far, this forum and you people are the ones that really made my mind up. Thanks

Wow! great job for the first day! What you were saying about how you wanted to stop really clicked with me. I know exactly how you feel, because of all the training I had to do for volleyball, there were times when I thought I had to stop, but I just kept going, which prompted the saying for my signature. Keep up the good work!

popcorn

Hi! Keep writing and discovering what's in your food. Once your eyes are open, it's so much easier to make better choices! Good job so far.

Your stomach will begin to shrink pretty quickly, helping with your hunger problem, but in the meantime, if you find yourself hungry, try eating some air-popped popcorn. (Poppers are cheap if you don't already have one.) If you eat it without all the butter and light on the salt, it is VERY filling, full of fiber, and will keep your metabolism going as your body works to process it. That makes it a great bedtime snack, because you will be digesting through the night and burning the calories while you sleep!
