lower abs workout neck pain

everytime i do lower abs workout my neck got a tension<pain> and my throats hurt. what am i doing wrong. when you do cruches or other abs workout do u squeeze your stomach muscle or let just move your body.

Nope, squeeze them abs.

as evolution says, use the abs to lift you, not your back or neck muscles. Your fingers should be touching your temple with your upper arm parralell to the side of your body. Then contract the abs and lift yourself to about 45 degrees. Hold for 1 or 2 seconds and slowly lie down again.

Make sure, when you're doing crunches, to actually crunch. Try and get your ribs to squeeze towards your mid-section. Like everyone else has been saying, use your abs to lift, not your throat. When working out, just focus on your abs and it should come naturally. If you're doing a lot of sit ups, make sure to stay focused and not just get into the motion. I don't know what you mean by lower ab workouts, because those include exercises like leg lifts. Leg lifts shouldn't hurt your neck as you should typically lie flat.

You can put your hands behind your neck. Just be sure not to pull yourself up with them. Your hands should be there only to support the neck, not to help the crunch.

when i do weighted crunches (both 11 lbs and 22 lbs) it hurts my arms coz there getting forced backwards and the back of my head.
