Low iron...

I was just told today that I have very low iron count in my blood. 10.2 to be exact. I was told that 12.2 is low but still healthy. Thing is I eat a somewhat balanced diet, so what could it be that has made my level drop so low in four months?

Balanced diet might not mean you are eating foods high in iron....you want to make sure you get plenty of iron during your period to compensate for the blood loss and iron loss.

Beans are great for iron, however to prevent it getting lower you might want to get a multivitamin with iron or an iron suppliment itself, it has done wonders for me. I have Anemia and i might not have went to that level had taken suppliments.

my iron levels are low too, my doc put me on iron supplements, 300mg 2x daily. be careful how much you take, as it can cause constipation. my doc also put me on 4mg 3x daily of fiber pills to help with this. i sleep A LOT better now since i've been taking these.
