I am doing a low fat diet! THat is how I have lost 91 pd in 1 year!!
I eat Tuna helper, potatos, I cook it with fat free butter and etc... ALso cereal, 100 calorie packs, fruti and veggies,chicken,salad, turkey sandwichs, Fat free chips, Fat free cottage cheese, Fig newtons, devil food cookies! Ok that is soem of what I eat! Of course I use Fat free butters, mayo, salad dressing (Light Done right), cheese, adn etc...
My diet is typically low in fats...the fats I eat are good fats. Here are some great, unprocessed or low processed choices:
Tuna
chicken and turkey breast
Fat free cottage cheese
brown rice
sweet potatoes
any fruits and veggies!
Barley
Whole wheat breads
egg whites (great with salsa)
shrimp
beans
lentils
Plain yogurt (great with sliced fruit in it)

Avoiding the bad fats like trans fats and saturated fats is definitely a good idea, but cutting out healthy fats like poly and mono unsaturated fats isn't!
Low-fat diets are supported often because fat contains a ton of calories/gram (and eating too much fat will raise your risk for heart disease/other health problems), so eating a lot of fat is going to bring your calorie total up very fast. However it's just as important to get healthy dietary fats as it is to get healthy carbs and proteins. If you have trouble remembering what's healthy and what isn't for fats, remember that unsaturated fats (healthy!) are liquid at room temperature, and saturated (unhealthy!) are solid at room temperature.
