low energy and no weight loss

Hi! I'm new to this community so bear with me:blush5:
Anyways, I have gained a couple pounds lately, and I am hoping to lose that and a few more (only about 10). I would not be considered overweight, however, I just have small frame.
I think the reason why I have gained weight lately is my diet. This is basically my schedule:
Breakfast is a hardboiled egg and a bowl of Curves cereal at around 7 am.
During school, at around 10, I eat a special K protein bar.
For lunch, at 12, I eat a yogurt, jello, an orange, and an apple.
After school, before I work out, I usually eat an apple.
I usually work out for about 45 minutes and run/walk for about 30.
When I come home, I'm usually so famished that I completely pig out and eat a ton, though. Throughout the day and once I get home, I am always exhausted.
Are there any revisions that could be made that would help with my weight loss and lack of energy?
Thanks in advance!

well..don't pig out at the end of the day? Your lunch looks a bit odd. You need something with more staying power...like protein and fiber. The jello is kinda useless if you ask me..unless its keeping you from eating junk with more calories. Is it sugar free? There is a lot of nutirtional info on this site. Also, since you said you are tired, how much are you sleeping?

im a total newbie here too okay so my opinion may be completely wrong but it seems you are eating nowhere near enough!!!

I'd recommend getting in some lean meats and around your lunch eat your biggest meal because it will give you energy and keep you going throughout the day. Also do you eat any vegetables? I find nuts help to curb cravings late at night and unsalted ones won't kill your diet.

But yeah im NO expert at all but i dont think your eating anywhere near enough.

how old are you? how much do you weight? and what's your average daily calorie intake. I'd try get someone on here who knows what they are talking about to give you some pointers to help you plan a balanced diet that will keep you full all day and give you the energy you need :)

I agree with everyone. Your output is too much for the input.
You need more food. Your body is in starvation mode and is holding on to the fat and you are fatigued because you are working out for over an hour with not enough nuroshment. The pigging out at the end of the day doesn't help. You need to keep your blood sugar constant during the course of the day so your hunger won't get you at night. You also eat no where enough vegetables. I don't see one in your list. I gather you get some at dinner but why not have a salad at lunch? If you eat meat, why not have a sandwich on a pita?

I just did a quick check of your calorie intake from breakfast to the apple before workout and you haven't hit 1000 calories yet. You ate 4 times and that is low. By dinner time your body is wanting the extra calories, so you pig out.

Look at what you are eating and how much. One, it isn't enough. Second, it isn't balanced. You need to create a diet plan.

Throughout the day and once I get home, I am always exhausted.

The reason for this is because you aren't eating enough or enough of the right things to keep your energy level up and provide for your body.

As an EXAMPLE, here are some meal plans to check out to give you an idea of how to spread your food intake out through out the day and balance what you eat:

(these are 1400 cal a day plans, which for some, is pretty low...)

here is the whole article workout and diet plans:

Just an idea of how to get your energy up, and get your body the food it needs at the same time. Hope it helps :)

As far as the beginning/middle of the day, you're food plan seems good. At the end of the day it's hard, even for myself, to resist pigging out.

My advice to you is this, based on the daily allowance of calories you're allowing yourself, judge your food wisely. Because I get so famished later in the evening, I try not to eat 700-800 calories before 3 o' clock. I get out of the house around 2:30 and am not back until around 5:30, at which time I'm quite hungry. My allowance is 1500, so by the time I come home, I can eat ALOT, within 900 calories from 5:30-9:30 and it will still be within my daily limit. Not only does this allieviate any feelings of guilt, it energizes me for my nightly workout.

If you're suffering from constant lack of energy and can't exercise because of it, I recommend you allot yourself a meal of carbohydrates before a workout. I find that a couple bowls of cereal or oatmeal give me TONS of energy and I have the stammina to run off 600+ cal.

I hope you can take this to heart and that we can all help you get through this!!
