Hey,
Im looking for some good healthy low carb snacks, dont get me wrong i have no problem with eating carbs its just im trying to maintain my weight now and i always use up my daily limit of carbs so im looking for some low carb snacks to fill in the gaps. I have about 400 spare calories a day,

Carrot Sticks :) Thats what I do, crunchy like crisps, but rather healthy instead :)

I quite like hard boiled eggs as snacks, you can choose to eat the yolk or not, but I find them very filling. And like no carbs! Plus, good protein for your muscles. :)

Also, when they were in season, any soft berry things. Blackberries, raspberries. I love them! Low fat cheesestrings are pretty cool too, good if you are on the go.

And my main staple: Sugar free jelly! I eat it by the bucket load. The stuff I buy, 2 whole pints is just 64 calories, maybe has a g or two or carbs, but probably not.

Hope that helps!

Combo snack suggestions - high protein + flavor

If you're going with a healthy high-protein snack like cottage cheese but crave a little more flavor, here's some combo snacks that are low in carbs and high in protein.

Cottage cheese with salsa or chutney. One of my favorites is spicy eggplant relish. If you're feeling less adventurous, ketchup (which is also an Indian chutney, as it turns out, just a highly Americanized one). Or sprinkle on a little salt-free seasoning, like Mrs. Dash.

Silken-soft tofu with any Asian sauce or chutney and maybe a little green onion or chives. I've been eating tofu for years, but just discovered the silken-soft variety, which is made via a different process. It is sold in small, sealed, air-free packages, which preserves the flavor and freshness until you open it. Wonderful custardy texture, but no particular flavor. Thus, the sauces.

Joseph's low-carb pita bread with hummus or pesto.

Whole-grain crackers with peanut butter (go easy on the crackers).

Cheese with raisins and almonds. Portion control is key - these are all high calorie foods. 12 almonds is about 1/2 ounce (90 calories).

A big glass of V8 along with a little cheese and/or whole grain crackers. The V8 all by itself is surprisingly filling.

Anybody have other suggestions for making those good-for-you snacks more flavorful and fun?

Bad advice. Carrots contain 10% carbs - that's high.

Celery is 3% carbs.

Canned tuna, packed in water - 0% carbs.

Have some celery sticks with tuna and dijon spread on top of them.
