I've been eating a low-carb, high-fat diet for about half a year now. About two weeks ago, I went in for my physical and got the following numbers back:
Total cholesterol: 104
LDL ("bad" cholesterol): 44
HDL ("good" cholesterol): 54
Triglycerides: 31
I was shocked at how good these numbers were. I have never had high cholesterol or high triglycerides, but these numbers were far better than anything I ever got back when I was eating lots of carbs while limiting my fat intake. FWIW, the night before my blood tests, I ate a steak and a low-carb dessert full of eggs and coconut flour.
I have heard, however, that some people have found a high-fat diet to increase their cholesterol and/or TG. I'm just curious to hear from other people about how switching from a high-carb/low-fat diet to a low-carb/high-fat diet (or vice versa) affected your cholesterol and TG numbers.
