Sport Low carb diet effects on the brain

Sport Fitness
Guys,

I have to do a fair bit of thinking for my job. When I am eating low carb I almost get fired because I can't think. I'm like "sorry boss, I'm cutting for another 2 weeks" he almost sent me home yesterday, I think he was joking.

Anyway, so the problem comes down to glucose and what not -

Has anyone experienced this and is there any way to reduce its effects through diet (other than the addition of carbs)

I have tried caffeine (coffee), works somewhat, but I'm getting addicted.

If I'm cycling carbs it isn't so bad, but is still a problem.

It is likely a case of tuning the carb cycling I think

Thanks

You don't necessarily need to lower carb intake to lose weight, though it makes it a lot easier. If its really affecting your work place, i wouldn't risk getting fired. Just increase your carb intake, but stay in a deficit.

Your brain uses 20-25% of your BMR, and your brain normally runs on glucose only.

If you do a very low carb diet, your brain won't get enough glucose and you will feel tired, like an endurance athlete who bonks. Eventually, ketosis will start up to manufacture ketones for your brain under more extended very low carb conditions.

If your diet is so restrictive that ( as you claim ) it actually impairs your brain function...perhaps it's time to re-think your priorities.

Why not drop you body fat as many others do ?

Simply combine a modest calories deficit with some resistance and cardio training and a diet that consists mostly of carbs ?
