Sport Low Caloire Breakfast

Sport Fitness
So for breakfast I've been eating Cool Whip with some frozen fruit. It's low-cal and tastes really great. I used to eat cereal until it got boring. Has anyone else given this a shot?

What kind of ****ing breakfast is that.

I'll respond seriously just for the heck of it-

Cool Whip is not the most nutritionally sound decision you can make for breakfast. It's fake whipped cream and it's loaded with hydrogenated oils, sugars and artificial flavorings. It wouldn't be ideal, but you would be better off with real whipped cream. I would suggest you cut the sweet toppings though. Stick to fresh fruit and eat something with some protein in it. Eggs are a great, low calorie high protein breakfast food.

"Low calorie" and "breakfast" shouldn't even be used in the same sentence! Breakfast should be the highest-calorie meal of the day - you need it to boost your metabolism and your energy.

Cool-whip and frozen fruit? That is the exact opposite of what you should be eating! A powerful and balanced breakfast consists of protein, healthy fats, and complex carbs. You're getting...well, sugary carbs.

Here are some better ideas:
Eggs (scrambled, omelet, you name it)
Meat (flank steak and turkey are great choices)
Oats
Fresh fruit
Peanut butter
Whole-wheat toast
Whey + peanut butter + banana protein shake

It sounds like your breakfasts take a really long time to prepare and eat. I don't have a lot of time in the morning, so these parfaits are great. I even found it on CoolWhip.com which is really cool too.

How much time do you have in the morning to eat breakfast?

That's, uh, not ideal, but fine. Only thing is, where the **** is the protein?

Take 30 seconds to blend up some protein in water or milk (if you're not worried about unnecessary sugar, or lactose), slam that ****, then indulge in your fat kid breakfast, mmkay?

Also, the whole, "You MUST eat a huge breakfast, no matter what!" thing is just lazy thinking for stupid people. Eat according to your needs. If you're not doing much in the morning, you don't need to eat much. Nutrient timing, some people call it. But you still require a solid injection of protein to "break" your "fast", so do it up, buttmunch.

Yea, what Focus said.

It's not hard at all to make a quick turkey sandwich or blend something up.
Or boil eggs the night before and eat them on your way out...

Point is, your goal shouldn't be for breakfast to be so low in calories. This will probably result in over-eating later in the day

No one can beat my 1000 calorie breakfasts with Eggs, bread, peanut butter, and meat!

I cant wait until I go back into a bulk phase and can pile away something similar every now and then. would you mind posting the 'recipe' for this culinary delight so I can get an idea of the protein/carb/fat ratios? Feel free to PM it so as not to take this thread off on a tangent.

P.S. Sorry for the hijack. FWIW, I would echo the advice on here in that you should be aiming for a hit of protein and some complex carbs in the mornings. Both keep you full for longer compared to simple sugars, and after a night's sleep you need to fuel yourself with some quality nutrients to kickstart the day. I find that a hefty bowl of porridge and protein shake first thing, followed by a banana or two mid-morning sorts me out for starters.

All the best.

lol. There really isn't a recipe. It's just a lot of damn food.
5-6 scrambled eggs
1/2 cup of oatmeal with peanut butter
couple pieces of fruit
some left over meat ( chicken or beef )

All this talk of protein and not much of carbohydrate!! your body has super high levels of Cortisol when you wake up, you need some slow burning carbs to release insulin and bring those C levels down so they aren't too catabolic

Protein is always good too though :D

I'm wondering if this guy works for Kraft...makers of CoolWhip.

seriously, ditch the coolwhip. the fruit is fine.

low cal and breakfast should NOT be used together. For christ's sake you've been fasting for the last 8 hours (sleeping) why in God's name wouldn't you want to nourish your body after that?!

if time is a constraint, work around your schedule. there's no excuse for making a lame dessert your breakfast.

hardboil a dozen eggs sunday night, then eat a few for breakfast each morning.

Sounds like my breakfasts! Protein is the first thing I eat in the morning (either eggs or meat) and then I'll eat a slice of whole grain toast loaded with almond or peanut butter :) YUMMMMMMMMMM

I used to have just coffee for breakfast and i wondere why I felt sluggish>>> I ditched the coffee and now as soon as i wake up its 2 cups of whole oats with natty pb and berries, a whey shake with a banana, and some cottage cheese. My body screams if I dont feed it first thing. The difference in energy you have through the whole day is worth the 10 minutes it takes to cook and eat a good breakfast.

Yes, thank you, slow burning carbs for breakfast :D
