Losing Weight the Healthy Way

Many people are finding ways to lose weight, thus I would like to share the most basic essential method for losing weight the healthy way right here.

Humans are made up of cells. Cells = tissues = organs. In order for our body to function well, our cells need to be fed with good nutrients. Thus, first of all is to change your eating habit. Next is to drink lots and lots of water. For every 1KG (around 2.2lbs) of your weight, you will need to drink 75ml of water. Water is essential, and that DOES NOT include juice, coffee etc. It should be PURELY water.

In summary, to calculate how much water your body need per day:
Your weight x 75ml = Amount of water required.

70% of our body is made up of water. As the organs in our body need different amount of water to function well, if one of the organs does not receive sufficient water to function, their job will be shared with the other organ, which will affect your body's overall performance. For example, when the kidney lacks of water, it is unable to function fully. Thus, the kidney's workload will be shared with the liver. As one of the jobs of the liver is to convert stored fats and provide energy to the body, it is unable to do so now that it has to do kidney's jobs too. And this cause the liver to be unable to burn off the fats completely. When this happens, fat increases, causing the weight to increase too.

OR

The reason could be because you have been drinking too little water. People often have this misconception that drinking too much water will cause water retention but the truth is, it's the opposite. Water retention will cause what you call, 'balloon body' and this results in the increase in weight. When you drink too little, your body receives this signal and will turn itself to survival mode. The water will in turn wrap around your cells. Thus, each time you drink water, your body will keep it instead of using the water to cleanse your organs. However, once you drink lots of water, your body will know and start to release the water inside the body.

Finally, it is very difficult for the body to differentiate hunger from thirst. If you don't drink enough water throughout the day, you may mistake thirst for hunger and eat more than you really need, which can also impair weight loss. So staying well hydrated is important.

If you have any questions, you can either post it here or email me at [email removed]. I'll do my best to answer your queries!

I am going to disagree about the fact that is should only be pure water. Recent studies show that first..the water intake numbers (8 glasses a day) isn't needed. Second..we forget about the water in the food we eat. Third..drinks count. The factor in those drinks you have to look at is caffine and sodium.

The factor you should look at is the color of your urine. Clear or slightly yellow urine shows you are getting enough water. Seriously, the army does the same to advise you on if you are getting enough water in Iraq (I was there, I know).

Everyone is different.

Thank you Jericho.

Like what he has said, everyone is different. I am not asking everyone of you to follow this method. At the end of the day, it's up to you. Health is yours, you can do whatever you want to it. I am just sharing what I know as I have witnessed my friends lost weight using this method.

I used to include the water in the food I ate but this will give people excuses to drink soft drinks, coffee etc which is not good for our health in the long run. If you're talking about water found in vegetables, the water will actually help you to feel full faster but the amount is minimal. You can still consume junk food but in adequate. The main thing is, as long as your cells are healthy, they will do the rest of the job for you.

I'm no longer interested in studies and research anymore. First, they say taking more vegetables is good for your body. The next, they say it's not. Probably I'm stupid. They're so good at confusing me. At the end of the day, the conclusion is: adequate amount will do.

For those who agree, you can try the method. But DO NOT drink too much water at one go.

For those who don't, you may stick to your current diet(:)

But if you realise your current diet isn't doing any good to you, you can try this method. I mean, what have you got to lose?

Yep, that's right. Let's ignore what the studies and research say, and we'll do what Estelle and her friends say works for them.

i get that its great to drink lots of water
but in the weight loss sense
unless you're drinking next to none
it really isn't THAT effective
i became extremely into drinking more water for a while
it NEVER affected my weight loss or appetite
the only thing it did was clear my skin up
i'm actually trying to cut back on water at the moment, which i think i've managed
as i was used to drinking so much
i couldn't go more than 10 minutes without a drink of water and not get a dry mouth
i think its more of a health thing than a weight loss thing
just my opinion obviously
but you're writing about it like it was the thing that helped you lose weight???
nertttttttttt
everyone would be doing it!!!
and i'd know a lot more skinny ppls............

The increase in weight can be caused by water retention so when some people start to drink more water, they will realise they've shed a few kilos. Next is your diet. If your calorie intake exceeds the amount your body can burn, then it'll contribute to the increase in weight(:) When that happens, exercise! If that doesn't work, that means the villi in your intestines are not working well :/

75 ml per kg, hm?

Okay....that's 75 x 125 = 9375 ml. Or 9.375 l.

Or for the non-metric users, that's roughly 318 floz./2.15 gallons (if it's wrong, blame google).

Per day?

That's not only near impossible (for most people), it can also be detrimental to your health. Plus, you better have more than one bathroom, and never move far from the loo.

yeah that math kinda messed with me too... at 180kg i'd be drinking 13.5l or 3.5 gallons lol

methinks i'd need to install a mighty big catheter or a computer in my bathroom ;)
