Losing Strength

A few months ago I was going to the gym almost every other day to lift weights. About a month ago I stopped due to other commitments. Last week I went back to the gym and noticed I cannot lift as much as before. Before I was able arm curl 30lbs and now I am struggling with 15lbs. Is this dramatic decrease of strength normal? I have been back to the gym three times and my strength still has not returned.
