Losing muscle bulk.

Hello there,

I registered on the forum to ask you guys a question, as i get the impression you are all well versed and professional when it comes to fitness. I am a figure skater, I have been skating competitively for 9 years and have undergone heavy training programmes within the last 5 years with an ex-speed skating European champion who is now a trainer. The programme that I and my fellow teamates have followed for years (I am not following it anymore as we no longer have a team trainer) was designed for core strength and quadriceps explosivity to help get into the air on the jumps.

My problem is with the latter. My quads are large and powerful, I can jump high with them but i am now changing to ice DANCE and no longer need this muscle bulk. I would like to lean down the quads and keep a nice neat muscle which gives power but looks less hefty. I eat very well, lots of fruit, vegetables, red meat 2 times a week and little to no deserts (i usually get fruit or yogurt for desert).

I will be going back to training in early september (holiday right now) and going to a gym isnt an option because i'm just starting to work and set out on my own and i dont have the money for a gym subscription (im 18years old). I'll have me, floorspace, and will. I think i'm probably going to have to mix up my diet alot, thats not a problem i'm willing to do every thing it takes. Do i need to lose overall weight by doing regular stuff like running and bike?

Any help is GREATLY appreciated, thankyou in advance,
Skater.

PS. My stats:

Height: 170cm/5foot7
Weight: 53kg/8stone3

I don't have the answers for you, but I wanted to say hi & welcome to the forum. Maybe someone else here will have some answers...
