Hi everybody!!

I'm new on here,so apologies if I'm posting in the wrong place.
I have set myself a goal to loose a little over 2 stone by September and also to reach a moderate level of fitness.I will be 40 in September.I've always been in reasonable shape and fairly fit. However, the last year has been very very tough and I haven't had the head space to focus on myself and so,my weight has crept up and up. Now I look rubbish and feel rubbish.
So, I have done my food shopping for the week ahead, all good, healthy foods etc and I plan on getting back running once a week and going to a fitness class once a week.
The reason I have joined this forum is because my biggest problem is lack of motivation.I could be brilliant for a few weeks and then jack it in.That is something I really don't want to do because I am miserable the way I am and with how I look.
What do people on here do to motivate themselves? Particularly with food.I don't have much of a problem with exercise-I quite enjoy it.But unfortunately for me,all the foods I love and crave are all the one that are bad for me.
So what I need from you guys is proper kick-up-the-arse motivation. In return I would hope that I could provide some support back or at least a listening ear.

Thanks for taking the time to read this :)

Hey Watermelon, you are more likely to find consistent support in the Weight Loss Diary section. It tends to be the most active part of this forum.

I suggest that you read all the pinned threads in the different sections as they are full of good advice.

It is well worth reading some of the postings that other people have written - even the ones from a long time ago - there are more success stories in our old threads than all the dieting magazines you could find.

Check out the clubs and challenges - they are a great way of challenging yourself to do the work you need to do to regain control.

Also - as Cory suggests - start a diary - visit other people in their diaries, see what they are doing and cheer them on and hopefully some of them will return the favour and visit your diary and cheer you on.

Hi Watermelon, I have just started a One Day Challenge. I find i get all fired up to loose weight, go to the supermarket to prepare for the coming week, plan meals etc.. then i just get overwhelmed and give up. So i though what if i just commit to 1 day of healthy eating at a time don't even think about anything further than 1 day at a time. So I started the [Deleted] page to pledge it publicly. i am only on day four but t is working so far why don't you join me ? You can commit to one day of anything. My sister in-law committed to just 10 minutes a day walking which eventually lead to her running a marathon. So don't focus on the future just commit today to walk for 10 minutes ....Cheers Imogen
