Looking for people to hold me accountable

Hi. New to ALL of this. A little about me. I just got out of a 3 year relationship on and off. And we haven't spoken in 6 weeks. Some days are EXTREMELY lonley. Which is what brings me here

I've decided I want to look and feel good about myself. Not necessarily to just lose weight and make the ex say mannnnn she got smokin hot. Why did I mess this up?!?!... but also for me to feel better in general. Like. I hate that I live on the 3rd floor and my knees are stiff and whatnot. I'm 28 years old good grief. Anyways. My self esteem is horrid I have little to no confidence in myself weighing 200 lbs at 5'5.

Plus I find myself eating crap food because I live alone. So BK and take out are a lot of my "go to" menus ..

I need help. I've never make healthy life choices. EVER. So I need someone to almost coach me into meal plans and exercise as I don't have a clue what to do.

I've got all this motivation to start this journey and I'm super excited. But I need some people to help me out.
Welllllllll hopefully someone reads this. Hope to hear soon!!!!!!

Alot of this sounds a little bit like me when I first started.

I don't know really if anyone can coach you to say; each individual is different and there is a lot of advice on the internet and on this forum. You just need to sift through it and find what works for you. I'm a student so my habits and lifestyle choices will vary from a lot of most other members.

I don't think personally I can give you any specific advice other than - throw away your take out menu's and delete your take out apps. I think this part is difficult because even if you do all of that it is so easy to access takeaways online - for me I am a bit of a scrooge so when I took into consideration how much money I was spending on take outs it made it a little easier to avoid it.

I think I have two main rules:
1. Remove all temptations from around you; if you don't have access to unhealthy food around you then you are unlikely to binge eat.
2. Try to aim for to track your walking with a pedometer and aim for a reasonable target each day; (I think the average target is around 6000 steps a day). You can then join the pedometer club (or similar) on the forum and share your progress - we will encourage you and if you want us to be a little more strict we can try give you a kick up the butt when your slacking.

As for holding you accountable; we can't really enforce anything. It all starts from within; you must be willing to be truthful to yourself and truthful to your readers. It is easy for me to lie to myself and how good or bad my day has been; I can chose to lie about how much I've exercised on a given day or how much I've actually eaten just so I don't feel negatively judged or to make myself feel better than I actually am however it helps nobody; we are all here to improve ourselves - lying to us will only be hurting yourself and the sooner I realised that the better it got.

I think the first step is coming back; committing yourself to a plan; laying out your plan to us and following it up on a day by day or week by week basis. Most people do this by creating themselves a weight-loss diary. This way you can track your progress; members can support you and hold you accountable if you deviate from your original plan.
