Looking for nutrition advice for weight lifting and bilking up

Hey guys,

I'm Jay, and I joined the forums today.

I have been going to the gym for the last year with the intention of bulking up, but so far I have more so "conditioned" my body back into the routine of going to the gym, and I have gained a lot of fitness from playing football and road biking. So now I am looking to start bulking up a bit.

I am 5' 11" and currently weight 68kg.

Tomorrow I will be having a chat with one of the trainers in the gym to go over my current routine, and to change things up to start this newxt goal, so I guess my questions are more so to do with nutrition and protein shakes, which is a subject widely discussed on these forums, with various opinions.

I will break the desctions up into number for ease of reading and answering :)

1. A trainer at the gym said I should be aiming for 3000 calories a day, aiming for approx. 200g protein, but he did not break it down further than that, what do you guys think is a appropriate break down?

2. My eating plan currently consists of:

7am breakfast: Porridge, protein shake (no carbs), orange juice
10.30am snack: Nuts, cereal bar
1pm lunch: Jacket potato and tuna
15.30pm snack: Nuts Cereal bar, fruit
18.30pm dinner: Here's the hard one, I don't know what the best meals to have for dinner would be, if you can suggest some meals that would be great.
20:30ish: Post gym protein shake (usn Anabolic)
23:00: I plan to have a pre bed glass of milk as I have read that this is very beneficial

The main problem I have is I don't know what to have for my snacks, and lunch/dinner, I have found that jacket potato and tuna is very good for lunch, but I'd love some suggestions. I also have a bag of flaxseed but dont really know what to do with it other than in my porridge.

I look forward to reading your responses.

Thanks in Advance!

Jay
