Looking for advice based on my life style

I have been overweight most of my life, I've been a vegetarian most of my life as well. I have past several years started eating chicken but on occasion.

I work Full Time at a desk with very little opportunity to move around during the work day. I have tried many diet methods ranging from 1k cal a day for few months to taking diet pills and going for a walk after dinner for 30-40 mins and I have gotten no where. Recently I have started putting on a lot of weight all of a sudden where I jumped from my normal 220-230 to 256 lbs :( . I'm 6 ft tall and when at the 220 range I look and feel slim. I have a large upper body frame.

If I push myself too much in workouts I keep on pulling a muscle at the same spot every time mid left of my back, no Doctor has been able to tell me why :(. I have no problem walking on a treadmill at 3.5-3.8 mph but I am only able to do so in the evening time after work.

Breakfast I eat the same almost everyday 3 eggs Only 1 yolk, 1 slice of bread with peanut butter and black tea with 1% milk and sugar.

Lunch ranges from just a sandwich from subway, or a chipolata veggie bowl without Guacamole, or bagle with veg cream cheese or sushi.

Dinner wife makes daily at home fresh produce usually just veggies with tortillas

hello and welcome! I am not a vegetarian but I lost weight by having a hight protein (meat) and veggie diet. At first I completely cut out dairy, sugars, fruit, carbs and processed foods. I also worked out almost everyday for an hour. Once I started to loose some weight I slowly added back fruits and "good" carbs. I tried to stick to portion size. I've used dieting pills and other products that worked for me but everyones different. I hope this helps!

Hey Alex - If you were genuinely eating 1000 calories a day for a few months and lost nothing then you have a serious problem and need to see your doctor...weight loss is about eating fewer calories and exercising more. It's as simple and as difficult as that. Your food sounds fine but how many calories are you actually consuming? I'd try logging everything you eat on myfitnesspal for a week - it may be that you are eating more calories than you think.
