This has probably been asked a few times, but once more wont hurt
I've finally found a workout that I love, for the first time in my life. I'm doing 2-3 days of intervals (20mins approx), 2 - 3 days in the weight room, and 1 - 2 days doing body pump classes - no more than 6 workouts per week, and no less than one day between weights. My goal is to get fit (this is my biggest priority) and to lose weight. The fitness goal is for when I do my basic training for the army reserves later this year.
My question is whether it's necessary to do long distance running/cardio to get a good cardio workout? The reason is that, as I said, I've got a great workout that's motivating me, and the last thing I want is to be put off by 45min+ cardio workouts. That's hell on earth for me - I just find them plain boring! I love my interval training, and love going for a good mountain bike ride once or twice a fortnight (generally about 2 - 4 hours of hard riding) and I really dont want to lose my motivation! Thanks.
