listening to music while running

what do you listen to when you run?

i like to listen to eminem songs like till i collapse, lose yourself, sing for the moment etc because they motivate me to fun more

for example...

eminem - till i collapse

Cause sometimes you just feel tired. You feel weak. And when you feel weak, you feel like you wanna just give up. But you gotta search within you, try ta find that inner strength and just pull that **** out of you, and get that motivation to not give up, and not be a quitter, no matter how bad you wanna just fall flat on your face and collapse.

eminem - lose yourself

Look, if you had one shot, or one opportunity
To seize everything you ever wanted-One moment
Would you capture it or just let it slip?

Yo, His palms are sweaty, knees weak, arms are heavy
There's vomit on his sweater already, mom's spaghetti
He's nervous, but on the surface he looks calm and ready
To drop bombs, but he keeps on forgetting
What he wrote down, the whole crowd goes so loud
He opens his mouth, but the words won't come out
He's chokin, how everybody's chokin now
The clock's run out, time's up over, bloah!
Snap back to reality, Oh there goes gravity
Oh, there goes Rabbit, he choked
He's so mad, but he won't give up that easy
No, he won't have it , he knows his whole back city's ropes
It don't matter, he's dope
He knows that, but he's broke
He's so stacked that he knows
When he goes back to his mobile home, that's when it's
Back to the lab again yo
This whole rap city
He better go capture this moment and hope it don't pass him

I'm actually in the process of making a movie with this song in the backround however it's the remix with 50, tupac, and nate dog.

Good stuff.

it depends on what mood I'm in. I always use rap or hard rock for weights, but for running it's more rap and techno. Although some rock sneaks in, it's not often (and it's usually A Perfect Circle).

Anyways, most days I run to the new Ice Cube, Chamillionaire, Deep Dish, Atomic Babies, or The Crystal Method.

ill probally be the only person that says this but i listen to 70's and 80's pop sounds that have good beat.....personally without music i couldnt run the 6.6 miles every other day

Interesting.. I've always liked freestyle.. When I was YOUNG.. I could remember songs my sister listened to.. and when I came of age I looked up lyrics I would remember.. Can't go wrong with Stevie B.. but for running.. no. When its working out.. anything with a fast beat gets me going.. whether it be rap, rock, metal.. really don't matter.

Matisyahu is the nuts!!!

I dont listen to music when I'm training cos I like to have 100% focus.
Ive tryed many times when I got my nano but I just cant train as hard.

dance dance dance!

dance all the way, but not too fast, like harcore or anything. House music is a good compromise i reckon

Electronica. I listen to all kinds of music from pop to even heavy metal stuff but electronica feels great when im running or driving.

The prodigy ! Great pump up songs :)

I have to have music on while running, I dont think I could do it without it, well not as easy anyway. With music its so easy to zone out, get the run done so much quicker. I listen to everything, I know most people say that but I really do. I have no preference when running as long as it is loud and it has a good beat :p

i i like to listen to rock or rap,
eminem, 50 cent, tupac, bust rhymes, blink 182, linkin park, feeder

these are a few i run to.

i listen to what ever comes on my mp3, usually something like feeder, the killers, bryan adams, razorlight, shakira etc.

But if I start to feel like i want to give up go for , Queen don't stop me know or another great one for the last leg of your run is Europe, the final countdown, That song always gets me running faster during the guitar bits

(survivor, eye of the tiger:cool: )

I never listen to my iPod while doing weights for the same reason as R.Lewis, I just like to concentrate without distraction. When I used to run a lot, I usually let shuffle decide what to listen to, but I preferred good hip-hop, some 80s/90s pop BS, and occasion techno...hey, it works!!!
