The X5i is an excellent cardiovascular machine. My wife has logged over 1500 miles in two years. It seems like the repairman has logged that many as well. BE WARNED, THE 3 YEAR WARRANTY INCLUDES SERVICE FOR ONLY ONE YEAR. And a service call is a minimum of $180,($90 for call and $90/hr, 1 hr min charge).
We have had two motor failures. It starts with a motor error message. We unplug it and plug it back in. Seems to be ok. Then when moving from forward to reverse or reverse to forward, the resistance wheel tightens up, and then a few seconds later is adjusts to the intensity level you have set. Twice now it has not returned and stays at about a level 12 before it will increase up to 20. And going to L20 it does get tighter, then reduces as you lower it. But once it drops below 12 it will not loosen anymore.
LF has been good about sending out parts, but one would suspect that they know there is a problem or they would not send out parts so readily. They need to bite the bullet and have a motor replacement recall.
Does anyone have any ideas for maintenance as I expect this to occur every year.
