Okay, so I would like to know some small easy ways to change my lifestyle that will promote a healthier me! :p

I have a couple, but I'd like anyone's suggestions. Also, please let me know if something sounds extremely unhealthy...

1. Eat one cup of yogurt per day.

2. Do not eat past 5p.m.

4. In stead of walking Berger for only a block, walk him at least 5.

5. Take the stairs up to my office whenever I have the oppurtonity.

Okay...Can't think of anything else yet.

Have any suggestions?

How about:
eat 5 portions of fruit/veg a day.

try to get out on the weekends. go down seawall or into the strip malls. ummm rent some of those bikes just to kill a few xtra calories.....

walking

My mom's diabetic clinic told her that distance walked doesn't matter nearly as much as time. You should exercise - walking is great - at least 30 minutes 3 times a week. This is in addition to your regular daily routine, because your body is already used to your routine. That was what I started with. It's a pretty attainable goal.

5 sounds kinda early to stop eating. What time do you go to bed? your supposed to stop eating 3 hrs before bedtime

From the do as I say, not as I do... yet anyhow files.

1. Get 8 hours of sleep a night (this one is so tough but it's important)

2. Drink enough water. How do you know you are drinking enough water? gross, but check the color of your urine.. it should be light yellow... if it's dark yellow, then you are dehydrated.) (this one i do, do)

3. Find a way to relax each day... (I'm working on this one as well)

4. eat breakfast

5. Cut out caffeine... (Drink a large glass of water in the am when you wake up, and you are supposed to find that it perks you u p and caffeine isn't needed.

6. Intentional eating --
I've been reading Leslie Sansone's book Eat Smart/Walk Smart or something like that -and the first chapter in the book, whcih I'm having a really hard time with because it's retraining 40 years of bad behavior is on Intentional Eating. WHen you eat, make sure it's the only thing you are doing.. Not working, not driving, not reading, not watching tv... you sit down at the dinner table and eat... no distractions... This should be done for all meals (I can't recall the last time I didn't work thru lunch...)
But it makes sense..

I think the one thing that made the most difference for me is I started eating every 2-3 hours. Spreading my meals evenly throughout the day instead of having 3 "squares" really changed my metabolism and finally enabled me to lose weight.
