Sport Let's Talk ALMONDS!

Sport Fitness
Hey all.

I had a question about almonds.

A friend of mine said that he thought that eating raw almonds was not as good for the body as toasted ones. He said he toast his almonds in the oven for about 40 minutes at 200 degrees.

What do you all think about the differences between eating raw almonds and toasted ones from a nutrition and health standpoint?

your friend is wrong. raw almonds are fine. slightly toasted...no better than raw.
now if you salt and roast them, those are worse simply due to the increased sodium content.

But aren't they pricey? Is the protein/Omega-6 levels enough that it makes it worth the price? How many should one eat per day?

Sorry to ask so many questions, I just never heard of the benefits of almonds before. Thanks.

I buy a bucket a week from the grocery store, I think $3.99 or something. They usually last me over a week, but I dont eat them everday, just snack on them every once in a while.

What other nuts are good? Does it matter if they're salted or un salted??
