leg weights

question: i bought some ankle weights 5lb set 2.5lbs each i plan on wearing them all day and night. maybe not to sleep and im not sure about running with them. but the goal is to get a few more seconds off my run time. by monday morning.

i run my 1 1/2 in 10:25 with shoes but i have to do it in boots. boots weight 3.5 lbs pair so im wearing running shows and 5lb pair weights my run need to be under 11:30

so the question is will it mess up my ankles to run with these weights?

I am so sick of hearing about these little extremity weights...There should be a sticky on them alone:p.

As We say time and time again. Those little weights are one of the LEADING causes of orthopedic surgery. They put unneeded and unnatural stress on your joints.

Use them long enough and i can promise you joint pain for life:).
 
well im not pushing hundreds of pounds of body weight. only 140, and i am not planning on wearing them for a loong period of time just a few days hear and there. mainly to fet my feet used to teh extra weight of the boots i have to run in on monday at 730 am.
 
I do have the boots but boots are bad to run in. great ankle support but arches and such not too comfy either. you ankle can not flex the way it should so not good to run in. i do run in them but not daily maybe once a week. run time decrease in shoes = decrease in boots. and better for my feet, back and joints.
