Leg-Weight, for basketball, how OLD do I need to be?

Hello!

I'm currently over 6-foot, and I'm really into basketball.

I am wondering how old I need to be before using leg-weights... as I will play wearing leg weights to get better at jumping.

Any help would be appreciated!

I've heard people say that for training to raise your vertical jump, you should use weight vests instead of leg weights.
 
Not on your legs, that's asking for injury. Go with the vest. It'll be more costly but also a hell of a lot safer. Our bodies aren't made to have excessive weight pulling on the extremeties.

Okay, I'll give it a shot. What weighting would be good to start at?

I currently weigh 70.4kg and am over 6-foot.

What weighting would you think good to start at (metric please!)
