learn pilates for free?

im getting interested in adding pilates to my routine, but I do not want to pay for a personal training.

does anyone know of websites that show the major positions, and how long ur supposed to hold each position? basically the 1 2 3s of pilates?

many thanks

No idea, but i know there are videos out there. Gotta be a lot less expensive than a trainer.

at wal-mart they're like I want to say 4 something for a 2 dvd set... but like the rest of them are usually 10... umm... you can download a workout I do believe from that...

Find a gym and take a class or two - it'd not be that expensive, and you'd have the benefit of a live instructor who could correct your form. Then if you liked it enough to want to continue you could get the dvds etc for home use. Just my 2 cents.

I agree with stingo - even if you want to purchase the videos/books to maintain, I think it is important to learn the proper technique and positioning. Sometimes you *think* you are in proper alignment, but unless you are working out in front of a mirror that you can see yourself or with someone else...you may not be. [sad]

You should not have to find a personal trainer, you should be able to find a local place that you can take a few classes.
