Sport Late night snack or not ?

Sport Fitness
Hi, I was just wondering something. I'm a 19 yrs old college student and have a part-time job. I've tried to put up a routine to keep my meals at the approx. same time but it`s just impossible with my lifestyle. Some days I come home at 9h30 PM and I haven't eat since 1h30 PM and when I woke up the next morning my stomach hurts a bit because of lack of food. Sure I snack but still feel like I need more than just snack. I was wondering what would you guys do. Would you eat even if its 9h30 PM or would you rather not ?

Hope you have a magical day :)

There was research many years ago showing the impact of eating late on body weight. When they came clean on the fact this was on top of normal intake not instead of this was discredited and every piece of research since has shown no confirmed difference based on time of eating.
By contrast frequent starvation has shown drastic issues in increased body fat and reduced training capacity.
In short, if you need food eat. The time of day is not important if it's good stuff.

Crazy Old Man makes a good point

The other reason health professionals sometimes advise against eating in the 3 hours before sleep has nothing to do with calories or weight gain but rather the increased possibility of reflux problems

Eating delayed into the evening can cause you to have uneasiness if you select meals that cause problems. Based on where you are and whether you are following a particular diet program then your choices for evening time eating might be limited.

Shouldn't be a problem. Protein can help keep the metabolism burning while you sleep.
