how long does it take for creatine to kick in? my friend told me you have to continuously take it for a month to actually see the increasing muscle size and endurance. is that true?

usually you will start to see the effects within 2 to 3 weeks

the increased muscle size will come from your training and eating, not from the creatine. ppl who load should notice a difference during their training in about 2-3 weeks as PP posted. those who dont load will see it in about a month.

i go to the gym 5 times a week with work outs ranging from an hour to an hour and a half and with creatine in 2 weeks ive got muscle i never thort i had....just started taking whey aswell so....

"loading" refers to taking a lot of creatine each day within the first 5 days or so in order to saturate your creatine stores that are already present, and then maintaining from then onwards with a small amount each day. (Loading will usually be 20g or so each day, and then maintaining with 5g).
"not loading" means building the store up slowly with a steady 5g every day.

also, reports have shown that 3g a day on a 200lb male bodybuilder will result in creatine saturation in 21 days (give or take)

that's 3g every day, regardless of whether you worked out or not.

personally i see no reason to load.

yeah i dont believe loading is necessary, the build-up over a month is gradual and imo better for you, but if you want results quick i guess loading is a good idea
