LA Weightloss Concerns

I joined LA Weightloss a week ago, and have been frustrated ever since.

I got my program, and I do like it. The structure is great and it allows for plenty of foods that I enjoy.

However, every day that I've been in since has been filled with high-pressure sales tactics. For HUNDREDS of dollars. Supplements, bars, snacks, juice... they make it sound like I won't lose weight without it, and make me feel like I'm condemning myself to a life of 30 pounds overweight. They haven't even given me the OPTION to not use them (and spend all the money)

I am so stressed by these tactics and am seriously considering going in and exercising my 7-business day cancellation right. :cuss:

That's the common complaint about LA Weightloss and if you spent some time researching it -you'd have seen that... 30 lbs isn't a lot of weight and can be lost without spending a lot of money ifv you put your mind to it and you're ready to do it..

I like to think that people don't have to suffer to lose weight. If you're not happy with the current tactic.... find another. There are a bunch.

I've got this one that's genius that not many people know about.

Simply moderate calories, eat much healthy and unprocessed foods as possible, eat adequate protein and good fats, drink plenty of water, and add in *sane* foods that you enjoy (keeping in mind the caloric moderation) in order to keep you content.

My mum and father decided to speak to a "counselor" at LA Weight Loss with the hopes of eventually joining. My father was "rejected from the program" as a result of using Nitro in the past year, but my mother was fine to join. Mum told the counselor that she wanted to lose ~30lbs. She told mum that it would take 1 YEAR to lose that weight and she'd have to pay ~$700 for the fees, etc. (That doesn't even include food) My parents were shocked at the cost and the lady responded with a sarcastic, "So how much is your life worth?"

I'm sorry, but that's a bunch of crap.

Update on mom: In the past month or so, she has lost 10lbs from watching her food and taking 30-60 min walks 3-5 days a week. :D Yippy!

:seeya: Hi, i am new here, and trying to find a group for LA weight supporters?

I am in Canada, and i think the program may be a bite differnt. I am into week 2, and after joining went search for some support groups on line but have found very few. (if you have any links feel free to share)

I had done the intial take off, and have advised the counsellors that i have no intention of using the bars/lites. I have to go in on Monday to "alter" my program to adjust. So they have not said much to me other then the lites really help. But i want the program only and not to depend on the lites. So far, they have not hassled me. Maybe if you tell them straight up that you will not continue the program if they pressure to use the products might back them off?

I've never used LA Weightloss, but the claims from their commericals seem like a bunch of garbage designed to sucker vunerable people in.

I dont have a problem with the last statement, but a year to lose 30lbs? Thats ridiculous.

My mum definitely had a problem with the last statement. When you roll your eyes and huff when saying the following, you deserve a big F U. It's called tact. (Not the F U part, but that's just the obvious right there.. haha) Also, it's a bit hypocritical to give anyone advice on losing weight when the counselor herself was overweight.

Thats true. However before someone can make that last statement, they need to have a bond with the recipient. Its a powerful statement but it needs to be used properly.

Rolling eyes and huffing, thats not a bond lol. Anyways good for them for doing it their way.

yes, just make it easy, you should do your own program, maybe it should be consulted by trainer, but I think you do the best when it is your own program.

I'm new here, and also from Canada. I've used LA for 1 month now and have lost 18 pounds. I haven't used the lites or the supplements, just changed my diet and went in for my one-on-one weighins twice a week. from 217 to 199 (I love being in the one-hundreds!)

I told the councillors upfront that I didn't want the products and they altered my program. The program does work...but if the councillors in your area aren't going to support you doing the program without their products, it may not be the best program for you.
