Hello. I've decided to start a journal on here because it's time to get back on track!
Background
I'm currently a 21 year old college student. Throughout HS and in my youth, I always played competitive sports and stayed in shape and fit. Then, freshman year in college I stopped exercising as I had before, began eating junk food, and put on 10-15 pounds of flab (at this point I weighed ~170 pounds). That summer, I decided it was time to get back into shape and I began to run, a lot. Over the next 3-4 months I lost that 10-15 pounds and was in the best shape of my life (even better than when I played sports) - I felt great.
My spring semester of soph. year, that summer, and in fall of 2007, I began to take a relaxed approach to running (I don't know why) and started eating garbage again. Luckily, I only gained roughly 5 pounds or so. Nevertheless, I've been really bad this past semester, gaining another 10 pounds of pure FLAB and I can't stand it anymore.
Goal
Get back into shape and lose this 10-15 pounds of fat. My current waist size is 34-35, and I would like to get this down to a 32 (this is where I was at during fall of my sop^^^^re year).
How to Achieve My Goal
Cardio - Mainly running, but also the bicycle, elliptical, playing sports, jumping rope, etc.
Nutrition - I need to stop all this late night pizza eating, eating entire bags of chips at once, etc. This is not to say that I will never go out and drink or anything (I am in college after all), but I need to be more conscious about what goes in me.
Sleep - Try to get more sleep. This will be difficult with final exams going on right now, nevertheless.
Weights - I will do my best to get to the gym and lift to supplement my cardio workouts.
Calistenics - I like to do these randomly throughout the day to keep my heart pumping. Jumping jacks, pushups, burpees, etc.
I plan to track my workouts here. I can't wait to get started!
