Hello I have been working out on a treadmill for 7 months exclusively 5 days a week, and never had serious aches or pains, I started out easy doing what I could comfortably, and increased speed and distance gradually still maintaining what was comfortable, I currently do 4 8 1/2 minute miles with a 1/4 mile walk as a warm up and 1/4 mile walk to cool down. I started out at 250 lbs
and now I am 190 lbs at 6ft tall. at 42 years old I am feeling like I did at 20 and love the running, But last week I was into my third mile and started to feel some pain in my right knee mainly when extention occurs the pain is primarily on the outside directly below the kneecap and seems to go around the outside up the back of the leg somewhat into the buttox. I took 3 days off and ran with some discomfort yesterday now today the pain is to intense to run, I have no pain at any other time walking and normal activities present no pain, I would love some info on what to do with this injury.
I would hate to give up running
