Knee Pain. 3 weeks to fix it...

I got two weeks to fix this problem. My right knee has always been a pain for me. After I run, my knee feels a bit swollen. I usually can barely walk on it after I've cooled down.

I'm no stranger to running long distances. I used to run long distance track and cross country. I was pretty damn good, too. But my friends moved, quit running or graduated. So, I quit the team as well. I basically haven't ran in about 4 years.

I do all my stretching, warm-ups, stretching, running, cool down, stretching...etc. But, my right knee persits on bugging me. My ankles too, but they are getting over it.

I leave for Marine Boot Camp in less than 3 weeks. I need to be able to run the 1.5mi in 13:30. Which, I know I can do. But...I'll be hurting afterwards.

I can't have that. I can't be stuck back because I can't use my knee.

Before, in HS when I had this problem, I just needed to run more. But that was along time. I don't have time.

Any suggestions or tips on how to fix my knee problem quicker? I've searched a little on this forum, but the workouts are for 9 weeks, 6 weeks...etc. I have less than 3.

Any help would be greatful as I don't want to be held back in boot camp for anything.

Oh, my workout consists of squats, toe raises, leg extensions and a few other leg workouts. All very easy weights, nothing too big on strength. Then I run between a mile and 3 miles. It depends. Cuz sometimes my knee really starts to aggravate me. Other times, I can go the full 3 miles...and feel the pain an hr later.

My endurance and breathing are fine. I can run the length, but my knee can't take it.

I'm used to running alot faster and alot longer. I'm also used to doing alot heavier weights. I don't know if my problem is pushing myself too hard or not pushing the right buttons.
