keep training if so train muscle more....more traingi9ng = more muscle and your body will demand more caloures..so basicaly eat more tain more simple as that

fatty foods.....but dont go overboard...simple rule is when you feel the need to eat....eat thats your body telling you you need more fuel...more work=more fuel

what am asking is there something i should consume, like powerade or a gornola bar, before pratice so i dont lose muscle because i did last year.

all those products are bs m8...you dont need them...its what i call (the fake majical answer)

the only reason for loosing muscle is reducing your intake...or becoming less active...

i already told you....

eat more or eat when you feel your hungry....

and keep diong wieghts...if you reduce your workout or stop all together it is enebitible that your muscle amount will reduce (doh)

more work=more muscle

fuel=food

workout=conversion to muscle

I have to disagree with scottish_walker a bit here. Make sure you eat GOOD prior to your workout, not just more. Go with something high in protein and carbs 30 minutes or so before your workout. And don't forget your post-workout eating - should be mostly protein and taken as soon after your workout as you can.

Also, you want to make sure you are getting enough vitamins/minerals in your diet. If you don't have these, you are doing yourself a disservice and you will probably see more benefits from this than from just about anything else. Good Luck!

I agree with Kalrog, eating the RIGHT foods is a necessity. Although you do need a certain amount of fat in your diet, eating a lot of high fat foods like scottish-walker has suggested is not the way to go. He is correct by saying that as you do more exercise your body will need more energy. If you do not supply this energy (in the form of food) your body will start using it's stored energy (fat and muscle).

Gatorade or poweraid will help keep you hydrated and restore some of your electolytes, but it won't do much to prevent your "body from eating it's self", as you say.

Good luck to ya in your season!

"fatty foods.....but dont go overboard...simple rule is when you feel the need to eat....eat thats your body telling you you need more fuel..."

I strongly disagree, actually, scientific theory has proven this to be totally wrong. You cannot pick what your body wants to burn. In actuality, many times your body will pick the muscle because muscle takes the most to keep in your system. Muscle consumes more nutrients than fat. Muscles are made of protien, so consume protien before your workouts and training sessions to prevent muscle loss. It's called protecting the muscle.

"more traingi9ng = more muscle and your body will demand more caloures..so basicaly eat more tain more simple as that"

Sorry, but wrong again. Actually, in weightlifting and muscle growth, less is actually more. All you need is to provide sufficient damage to the muscle to induce hypertrophy, then the resting period is where your muscles actually grow. Training more than you are now is called "overtraining". This is where you train so often and with so much volume that you actually being to decrease in strength, or hold relatively the same strength while making no gains. So, I would suggest eating as much as you can, eat around 6 times a day if possible, if not, just do the best you can. Muscles need lots of nutrients, so try to give it to them.
Remember, "you are what you eat". If you eat a lot of junk food you will not be as strong as if you eat healthy, fresh fruits, veggies, lean chicken, ect.
Sorry scottish_walker...but try not to give advice to someone unless you are sure of your answer. Opinions are good on this forum, but your advice could have totaly mislead this individual.

I also completely agree with kalrog and lex. Gatorade will not prevent fat loss. Muscle DO however need plenty of water.

Yep...eat, eat, and eat some more. It's about inputs and outputs. A pot of boiling water will evaporate if you don't keep adding water to it.
But quality is very important. Good carbs, lots and lots of protein.

Good luck! Stick to it and be disciplined.
