Keep me motivated

Hi All, I am 18 and new to the forum. I need a way to express myself and this seems most suitable and can help me stay accountable on my weight loss journey. I used to be in great shape, super healthy, wouldn't go near processed food and was honestly looking great. I began to come to the conclusion of my high school year and with exams approaching I turned to food as a vice. This began initially as a few cheat days here and there, to it being blown out to cheat days every day now it seems. I am currently 123kg (271 pounds), have an overhanging belly etc etc. I used to love being athletic but now it seems like a task to even walk around the block. I keep committing to change but keep falling back into old habits so hopefully this is the beginning of a new avenue and a rediscovery of feeling and looking good again. Each day I will update and provide general food summation/exercise/all round feelings etc. My first little goal is to by the end of August, be down t0 <119kg. Hopefully by the 25/10/18 I am <110kg. That is the goal. So a loss of 13kg in three months, hopefully more! Looking forward to this, hope some come along the journey. I also sometimes lack motivation and fall back into old habits so any positive stories etc. are welcomed.

how do i ask a question on here

Hi and welcome
Heres a few things that helped me stay motivated for my first few months of being healthy.
1 I only went food shopping when I was motivated to be healthy, so I didn't buy any crap
2 take photos on day one. You don't notice big changes in your body because you look at it everyday but looking at a photo from 4 weeks ago will be a shock.
3 I cleared out my cupboards of everything unhealthy before starting
4. I started skipping workouts on days where I felt demotivated from work etc so (after a few weeks) I made a conscious effort to workout when I felt least motivated. This was a real turning point in making training a lifestyle change for me because my post-workout feeling is so much better if I've had a crap day, it's addictive!
5 prioritise losing weight ahead of other things for the first few weeks, it helps get you in the right routine. I skipped nights out and social events to prioritise sorting myself out and getting on the right track.
6 I weighed myself every week on a Sunday in the morning when I woke up before eating or drinking anything. Don't get addicted to weighing yourself everyday and understand that your weight loss will vary from week to week irrespective of whether you do the same thing. A 4 weekly average weight loss figure is a good one to shoot for.
7 think about what you do when you eat unhealthy and change those habits. I tended to to snack when I watched movies or late at night so I stopped watching Movies for a few weeks and went to bed earlier.

There's a few tips that helped me anyway but there's probably a load of things you can do to make those first few weeks easier and get you into the right kind of habits. Making it as easy as possible is the key initially but it quickly becomes routine.

Good luck buddy !
