Hello everyone, I’m Kate
I have done diaries on here before but my first in 2012 was the only time I actually managed to lose weight and get super fit, to be honest I became obsessive and life got in the way by throwing me a curveball and it went downhill really quickly.
I’ve been back a few times but just been a big fat failure again and again.
BUT......today feels like a new day I use to run (really bloody slowly!) and did a half marathon in September but haven’t run at all since My other half enters me in these races to keep me active as I am a sloth by nature, anyway, he has entered me in another one in May and I’ve been burying my head in the sand about it. Today I went for a run I thought I would have to start at week 1 on C25K cos it had been so long but I actually ran for the full 30 minutes other than a few stops to fuss dogs (I always have to say hi to a cutie!) and I am so so chuffed with that. There is hope

I also go to SlimmingWorld (UK) I’ve been going since about October and tonight is weigh in. I have been ok for the last few weeks but still trying to just get the Christmas weight off
I will post when I get back and let ya know how I’ve done.
Thanks for reading my ramblings.

Love and hugs

Hey Kate and welcome back! I'm preparing for a 5k in Mai and though I started three weeks ago I'm nowhere near as far on as you are :)

it's getting difficult to come up with new ways of saying the same thing, but i'll give it another try....

if you have no idea what role insulin plays in weight loss, you are at a severe disadvantage.

wow... 18 words, i think that may be a record... :)

Hi :seeya:

Well, I went to Slimming world or as it is called in my house and probably many others 'fat club' and I lost half a pound. I'm ok with that as I had an epic fail on Sunday, it all started with red wine in the afternoon....not good lol and I haven't really planned and eaten properly. I haven't eaten meat for 2 years now and it really makes it a pain in the arse when I live with 'normal people' :p I must be more organised!!!
Tomorrow I will be totally on plan :)

I am attempting to add a ticker thingy under here to show my journey...…..here goes, I am totally tech stupid

Thanks LaMaria :) don't stress it, when you first start it is way harder but that feeling when you do a decent amount of time running without having to stop is just awesome. When I first started back in 2012 I started with 1 min interval running and now I have run a 10km, 2x10mile and 3 half marathon races and most of them have been at about the weight I am now. It can be done. You will get there hun. :)

What a lovely surprise! Welcome back, Kate & a great big squishy hug to you ;)
Keeping weight off is so much harder than getting it off in the first place. Our fat cells put up a hell of a fight. We can't give up, hon, xoxo

... Keeping weight off is so much harder than getting it off in the first place. ...
there are arguments that contradict this opinion, but most are based on the method used to lose the weight. calorie restriction spread across a noninterrupted eating schedule (aka, 3+ meals a day) will always result in a lower metabolism. trying to maintain a lower metabolism is what generally leads to the eventual failure.

Hi all

Had a really good day today. Ate lots of salad and veg...…..rather than living on eggs and jacket potato and beans lol so happy with that. I made sure I drank lots today too.

Oh my word, do my legs ache today:confused: I felt them even before I got out of bed lol. and made complaining noises every time I sat down or stood up and walked lol. They have improved this evening though :)

It's good to be back...…...just need to get into the habit of posting everyday :p I might have to set myself a reminder......I am Dory lol

Ooo, thanks for reminding me: looking forward to jacket potato and beans on the weekend! Nothing better in winter weather and I haven´t made proper baked beans in ages so might as well. *wanders off to find baked bean recipe*

Well done, hon/Dory :) Did I say how lovely it is to have you back? :D

Hi all
I'm having to set a daily reminder on my phone to make me remember to make sure I write in here  I am Dory! Cate, I even have a tattoo of her now lol.
Another good food day. :) and I turned down an offer of chocolates  Yay!!!!

My legs were still sore this morning but seem to have finally forgiven me now...….off again on Sunday for another run :)

I work some Saturdays and tomorrow is the first one I have off for 2 weeks, it's going to be so nice but i'm hoping not to stay in bed for ages (I am a sloth) and i'm going to make some candles and moisturiser and hopefully some soap too.

Love and hugs to all.

Hi, gorgeous. Well done on saying no to chocolates :)
Enjoy your Sat off & don't sleep in too long. Make the most of your day, hon xoxo

Hello to everyone! I am new to the forum, and I thought I would share a quote to get started. "If you have discipline, drive, and determination ... nothing is impossible." -Dana Linn Bailey :patriot:

The idea of a Dory tattoo made me smile :) I should get one of Pumbaa. Well done on the chocolate and enjoy your Saturday!
