Ok, all, I want to figure out some good morning foods to eat. I do like my eggs and toast, but after a month on taht, it gets boring....as does eating a salad everyday. Ick!

I saw in the store today Kashi Go Lean Granola type cereal. Is this good? I mean, is it a healthy choice? For a picky eater, would it be a good one to try? I loved my granola cereal , but I can't find it anymore. What else could I have with that in the morning to tide me over until the next meal time? I could probably have my eggs, too right? Anyone?

What about other breakfast type things? Keep in mind that I do NOT like the following:

~Oatmeal
~Tofu
~yogurt

Yeah, I know...the healthy stuff I dotn' like. It's so frustrating.

i hate cottage cheese. and i eat it about 5 days a week.

have you tried real old fashioned oats, and don't over cook them? cuz they're a heck of a lot better than instant oatmeal, which is the consistency of paste that's been exposed to air for too long.

tofu isn't great for you anyways. but yogurt? really?

all I'm saying is, you may have to sacrifice and eat some things you don't really care for, simply because they ARE that good for you.

otherwise, pearled barley is pretty good...cinnamon and splenda on it make it kinda sweet and breakfasty.

GoLean is ok, but its still high in carbs and has some sugar. still, lots of fiber, so its better than most cold cereals. Uncle Sam's cereal. Multibran Chex.

I hate being picky. LOL Ok, I will see what I can try..part of my problem is I don't want to spend $3 or more on something when I don't know if I like it, and then if I don't I will have wasted the $, and that's not what I can afford to do right now.

BUTT....I will try to get a healthier breakfast going.

dh likes those varieties of cereal ad yes, eats them everyday.

i eat salad everyday for lunch........i have coffee and yougrt everyday for brekafast.........i think routines are nice.

I eat the Kashi GoLean Crunch cereal. Yes, it is a processed food, but much better than most. It actually tastes almost like normal food (of course, my idea of 'normal' is changing more everyday as I eat healthier).

Malkore is totally right about the oatmeal thing. I can't stand instant oatmeal, especially all that flavored garbage. I eat whole oats that I cook with a lot less water and a lot more oats so they are really dry and not all soupy and mushy and gross - then add a bit of brown sugar and cin. w/ a dab of butter - yummm

Eat whatever you want so long as it's a protein/carb meal. Sometimes I have a burrito :)

Other days I do a veggie stir fry over eggs.

And then other days I do toasted Hemp bread, natty PB and banana slices.

Interesting. Ok thanks again for your input everyone! Tomorrow is the big shopping day, so I will try and remember these things. :)
