Im really on here just to see how people go apon losing weight...
I know you have to eat right and exercise but its seems like ive tried everything and it never works...
Plus working at Wendys(fast food resturant) doesnt help

Well if anyone has any activites that really helped them in weight lose i would love to hear what it was...

Thank you

there is no magic ... it's about motivation and will power.

i would recommend starting yourself a daily journal (in the diary section). you will get feedback from all the members on here as to what they do and what might help you.

the best way to make progress is to slowly make adjustments so you aren't drastically changing your life.

hey there.. I would suggest simply adding 30 min of walking 3x a week as a way to start, and gradually increase it to jogging. I began walking and then switched to one min walking, one min jogging until I could jog the whole time. Another good thing to add is weight lifting, if you have the time and ability.

good luck sweetie!!!

? for amomono

amomono - I am curious, I am doing pretty much what you said above. I lost the initial water weight (10 pounds) and now I am going down in size but can't seem to lose anything beyond the water weight. :( I walk 3x per week 4mph for 35-60 min. I lift weights MWF for about 40 min. I PUSH myself, I go in there to WORK and I DO. The reason I am emphasizing this is because I see many people who "go to the gym" but don't get much of a workout, lol. I am eating appx. 1500 cal. per day. I have been doing this for about 10 weeks. I'm curious if you have any input.

Its very possible you have been making progress, but because you aren't actually measuring yourself in terms of weight or size, you can't tell. I know personally, I have no idea when I've lost weight just by looking at myself. And the more weight you have to lose, the harder it is to look like you've lost any.

I would suggest you either pickup a scale or a tape measure, and to start off, don't weigh yourself more than once a week so that you don't get obsessed with it (also you can't really notice a difference day-to-day, so it feels better to look once a week and notice 2 lbs are gone)

Also, keep going! Its fantastic you've stuck to this for 10 whole weeks! Keeping weight off long-term requires a lifestyle change, and it looks like you've got that part pretty well under control :D Good luck, and please keep us posted on your progress!

I do have a scale and I do measure myself. I have not lost anything according to the scale since that initial water weight loss the first couple weeks. As far as measuring, I measure once a month. I lost inches the first month (mostly on the bottom but a 'lil on the top too). That was on 9/24. But then when I measured on 10/24, my measurements were exactly the same as on 9/24. And the scale says the same as it did on 9/24. It seems like I made progress between mid August when I started and the end of Sept. But then no progress since then.

I'm sorry Rhonda, my response was directed at Ashely, I guess I should have been more specific!

I'm not really sure why you haven't lost any weight since the initial 10 Rhonda, it seems like you are doing all the right things. Sometimes medications will interfere with weight loss, are you taking anything? Or maybe its not just the calories you're eating, but the kind that you're eating - you should have a healthy balance of carbs, fats, and proteins, though I can't remember the exact balance... 40%, 25%, 35%?? If all else fails, you could seek out professional advice from a nutritionist or even a general doctor.

LOL, I'm the one who's sorry and I apologize to Ashley for "hijacking" her post! I am eating 20% fat, 35% protein, and 45% carbs. I am really interested to see what my doctor has to say about this if I can't get it jumpstarted before my next appt (Dec. 1st). Incidentally, I started journaling again today - just to be absolutely positive that I'm not getting more calories than I was thinking. I start out journaling then I get lazy at it. I guess I'm one of those people who NEED that structure!
Rhonda

man - I know what you mean about needing structure!!! I'm not sure why it's not working for you... it seems like it's what should work - and it has worked for me... maybe try cutting back an extra 100 cals a day? I have no idea.... the more I am on here and try to answer people's questions, the more unqualified I feel! =)

i really enjoy dancing so i bought the hip hop dvd its 60minutes long and ive done that 5times a week with healthy diet and the odd treat and i lost 5lbs,but that was a few months ago then i went back to my old habbits with lack of motivation and support, but today i have the some will power that i can do it just getting emails off people in the same boat helps.
