Just starting have a question

Okay so I decided to start working out and just bought a kettle bell, as I've read many good things about them. They had a 35 lb. one and I thought "35 pounds that's nothin" and I picked it up and was like "No way I can work out with this!" yet anyway, so I bought the 25 lb one. But I weigh 145 and am very out of shape. I bought some Whey to go along with it, I remember once hearing that you should generally work out for two weeks before taking whey regularly. Is this true? Or should I go ahead and start up the whey? Also if any one can give any pros and cons as to drinking before or after workout, I'd really appreciate it. I'm sure it's not a big deal but I want to get maximum benefit of course. Thanks

whey is nothing more than food. if your protien intake isn't sufficient, use the whey. no more than 2 shakes per day though at most....real food is better.

no need to wait 2 weeks to start using it...your body will need protein the day you start working out.

Yeah, start the whey.

And, a whey shake within 20 minutes after a workout will get valuable protein to your muscles when they need it most.
