Heya Everyone!

Just thought I wouls say hello, I checked out the boards and I was really impressed with the great information and ideas being exchanged, and in a really friendly and helpful manner, thats great keep up the good work!!

I'm currently in the middle of my weight loss program I weighed 284 pounds with a 44 inch waist on April 1st and today I weigh in at 235 pounds with a 37 inch waist and dropped a shirt size ( 2x - XL, and thats a little baggy).

I bought an elliptical trainer and have been working out on it for the past 3 months, for the past month i've been able to do 1.5 hours in the morning and 1 hour in the evening on it. I do 1 20 min HIIT program and 2 x 30 min preprogrammed workouts in the morning and 1 20 min HIIT program and 1 40 min preprogrammed fat burn program in the evening.

I'm picking up my weights after work tomorrow and I've got my workout planned for that, I've revamped my diet and did a 180 and went cold turkey on all fast food, colas and all the other bad stuff i was eating. And now eat 1500 calories a day for real food and drink 3 litres of water a day.

My question is other than cardio and weight work is there anything else I can be doing? the weight is still coming off great roughy a pound everyother day, is there any other ways to speed things up a little?? I'm really open to suggestions so if anyone has any please fire away.

Well I'm be checking out these boards alot, and if I have anything helpful i'll be sure to contribute, good luck to all of you as well in your weight loss!

Hi, sorry I dont have any suggestions on how to speed up your weight loss but I would love to ask you a question. How have you stayed motivated with your exercise regime and the healthy eating for so long. I never seem to stick to anything for more than a month.

Hiya Kate

I have really awesome supportive friends, they send me emails encouraging me, and making a big fuss over me when we go out. 3 of them went through big time weight losses themselves in the past 2 years so they really know how to keep me going since they went through the exact same thing and suceeded. Alot of it is mental, just telling myself not to eat pizza and mcdonalds and telling myself its that stuff that made me overweight. I used to eat this stuff all the time, it was nothing for me to eat lunch and supper at a fast food resturant and sometimes 3 times a day if we went out to eat after going out. I had to make that choice..I ask myself..do you want to lose weight or do you want to eat this pizza? what will make you feel better...and everytime its the weight loss.

The exercise is great I really enjoy it, I just throw on a dvd or some music and pedal away on the elliptical trainer, I think its easier to work out in your own house if I had to get up, get dressed, drive to the gym, wait for the machine I like, it probably would make me not work out as much its alot easier having the same equipment at your house.

Well hope that helps you out, I think you can stay motivated for way long than a month, just make a plan you can live with and have some reachable goals and with each pound you lose it becomes that much easier.
